Prince Friedrich Karl of Prussia, who has died a prisoner in British'hands, is the tenth German prince who has lost his life in, the war. Three Princes of Lippe and two of Meiningen are amongst them, as well as one- each of the princely houses of Hesse, Reuse, Waldeck, and Liechtenstein. Only one Austrian prince—Prince Emanuol of Salm-Salm—lias been killed. In addition, 'the Kaiser's brother-in-law. Prince Adolf of Scliaumburg-Lippe, ami Duke TJlvich of Wurtemburg.have been wounded, and the Prince of HohcnzollernSigmaringen (who was an officer on the, notorious Emdenk is a prisoner. The Austrian Prince Emanuel of Salm-Salm, who was killed outside Warsaw,.waß holi-day-making in South Africa when the war broke out, and was taken to Gibraltar and interned there. An exchange of prisoners was, however, arranged, and the prince was allowed his freedom in exchange for Colonel Gordon. V.C., and returned to Austria, to lose his life shortly afterwards during the big Austro-Geman offensive in Poland. -The Camp Commandant at Trentham acknowledges receipt of tho following "ifts: Parcel of "Auckland Weekly News from anonymous donor.
