CLYDESDALE HORSE SOCIETY

ANNUAL"-MEETING. land Clydesdale Uorse Society was held on Fndar-m the -Esperanto Hall. The president (Air. J W. Harding) occupied the chair, and there was a fair attendance of members present. . The chairman stated that owing to the uar the society had e.xperienc;d an unsatisfactory year. . It was resolved to proceed with the jssuo of the third volume of the Stud Book. The society decided to be represented at the Board of Agriculture Conference - to be held in Wellington in November. The delegates were instructed to'endeavour, to obtain legislation to' prevent the exportation of stmt stock, without first -securing a certificate from the association. Elections of various committees and officers resulted as follow:—Editing committee, Messrs. J. Knight, ,E. Hunter, J. W. Wyllie, and J. Gow; finance committee, ,T. W. Harding, E. Hunter, ,T. W. Wyllie, Quintin Donald, J. Knight, 3. ' Shearer, and president and treasurer. The following councilmen were elected :—Messrs. A. E.""Harding, 1,. If. Hamilton. J. Knight, J. F.- Sutherland, J. W. Blair, W. J. J. Charters. J. A: Johnstone, R. Kennedy, and president and treasurer. ; Officers for the coming year were elected as under:—President. Mr. D. ii. Wright; vice-presidents; ' Messrs. J. Knight and J. Grant (North Island), J.. Eoag and G. Thomson (South Island)) auditor.?,. Messrs. Barr. Lcary, and Co., Dunedin. Accounts 10 the amount of .£52 13s. were passed for payment.
