The Ngakuta arrived last evening from Grcymouth. She will leave on the return trip on Monday.
TAINUI TO BE BEACHED. The Taiiiui will be beached at Evans Bay on Mouday, when a new propeller and tail-shaft, which are being made by Messrs. Cable and Co.. will be fitted. The local agents, Messrs. Salniond and Spraggon, expect tluu the Taiiiui will lie ready lor sea by Thursday next. THE HIMITANGI. The Himitangi is expected to arrive from ijytteltou to-morrow morning. She will leavei for Lyttelton on Monday, returning on Ihursday. On Friday she will sail direct for Owenga (Chatham Islands). THE HINEMOA. The Hinemoa, bound from- West Coast lighthouses to Wellington, passed Stephen Island at 9 a.m. yesterday, and should arrive in port this afternoon. She will leaves Wellington on Wednesday or Thursday for tho south on one' of her periodical visits of inspection of South Island lighthouses. The vessel will call at Dunedin to load stores before proceeding further south. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. A. Jacob, who was an extra officer on the Komata, signed off that vessel yesterday. Mr. Needham, in charge of the New Zealand Refrigerating Company's steamers, arrived in Wellington yesterday morning from Lyttelton ou business conuectcjl with the Tanui. Mr. H. H. Ebey, who visited Australia in connection with the establishing of tho Luckenbach service to Australia and New Zealand and returned to America s.ome time ago, when he severed his ct nneotion with the firm, has been appointed operator of .traffic for the United States Shinping Bureau. Mr. W. Flood, engineer on the Wakatu, has signed oft that vessel's f-rtlcles, and his place has been taken by Mr. J. A. Moyes. Mr. W. MilleY, who was purser on the Tarawera on her trip up thy coast, ig returning to Dunedin for orders. Mr. Cargill, chief engineer in the Union Company's service, has procoeded to Dunedin for orders. Mr. M'Caig has taken his place. The Kaituna is expected to leave Westport to-night with coal for Wellington. The Kamo, with coal for Wellington, is to sail'from Greymouth to-night. The Karu left Oveymouth at 4 a.m. yesj terday for Wellington. j The Blackball Coal Company's collier iNgatoro, which was due at Whangarei from I Greymouth last night, will afterwards load | cement at Limestone Island for way tiorts : and Wellington.
