Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Masterton, report having hold their weekly sale in the Colombo Road yards, when there was a fair yarding of stock, principally cattle, which met with keen competition, and resulted in a total clearance being made at the following prices :-2-year Polled Angus steers. £12 10s.: 2{-year Holstein cross steers, £9 10s. to £11; mother-reared Shorthorn cross weaners, m.fl., £7: m.s. weaners £4 Us.; yearling Hereford bull, £15 15s. cattle, at their Te lloro sale on Wednesday. Bidding was brisk and they cleared practically the whole of I heir yarding at satisfactory prices. Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report that at their Upner Hutt salo on Thursday, they submitted a good yarding of cattle, a large nropdrtion of which were springing heifers of medium quality, which did not reach vendors' reserve. Other classes sold well. Tho following prices were realised:— Empty 18-month heifers, £5 10s. to £5; cows in milk, £9 155.; spring calving heifers, £7 10s.; yearling steers and heifers, £5; weaners, mixed colours, £3 15s. to £3 195.; small weaners, to £3 7s.

The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-operative Association, Ltd., Paliiatna, report having offered a good entry of sheep at their weekly sale, held in the llangahao yards on Tuesday. Included in the offering were the stud Lincoln flock on account of tho Estate of the late Mr. Ohas. Avery, and tho Southdown flock, on account of Jfessrs. Kennerley and Co. The Lincolns wereall of good quality and in excellent condition. Tho- commanded keen competition, and were distributed amongst buyers from Dannevirke, Woodville. and Masterton. The Southdowns met with better competition than was anticipated, and prices realised must be considered satisfactory.
