(The Federal Government has fixed the niaxiinum cargo rates" between Melbourne and the Gippsland Lakes and intervening ports at the rates operating on June 30, plus 2s. Cd. per ton, excluding eugar contracts between Brisbane and Gladston, the rates for which will be those existing on May 14 last, plus ss. tou.—Press Assn.
