(8) —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.-Reuter. ITALIAN SHIPPING LOSSES. (Rec. July 26, 8.15 p.m.) Rome, July 2G. During the week ending July 22, 593 ships arrived and 550 sailed. Two steamers were lost.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.-Keuter. GERMAN COAL STEAMER TORPEDOED (Rec. July 26, 8.5 p.m.) Amsterdam, July 25. A, submarine torpedoed the German steamer Nordeney, which had a cargo of coal consigned from Rotterdam to Denmark. One sailor was killed. The rest were rescued.—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assu. ENEMY CLAIM TO HAVE SUNK A BRITISH SUBMARINE. (Rec. July 2G, 8.45 p.m.) London, July 20. An official report from Berliu states that the British submarine C3l was sunk by a German submarine. One stoker who survived was taken prisoner.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.-Reuter. BRITISH ARMED MERCHANT CRUISER SUNK A FORMER AUSTRALIAN LINER (Rec. July 26, 8.15 p.m.) London, July 26. Tho Admiralty announces that the armed merchant cruiser Otway has been torpedoed and sunk in northern waters. Ten of the craw were killed. Ihe remainder were saved.—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn.-Router.. [The Otway, of 12,077 tons, was built in 1909 for the Orient Steam Navigation Company. She was well known in the London-Australian route.]
