Five raorb of tho temporary hands, who liav) boon doing duty at the MiratnHr Gasworks were released for tlieir ordinary work yesterday, "which indicates that £ho porma'nont staff at the works must now 1« fairly strong. The supply will bo turned on at 6.30 this morning and will be cut off at 10 o'clock to-night.
