WEST AUSTRALIA'S FINANCES

Perth, July 21. At the opening of Parliament the Governor in his Speech expressed anxiety at the State's deficit. The Government proposed to economise strictly, and amalgamate Government Departments. When the amount of savings was ascertained, taxation for tho balance of Tevenne and expenditure would be introduced. The time was inopportune for the introduction of legislation, as the Government's policy must bo submitted to the people for endorsement.—Press Association.
