COLOSSAL FIGURES. Up to July 14 the 'Department of hunerial Government Supplies had paid out ,£17,581,684 for meat acquired in the Dominion since March 3, 1915. The sum bought 1,521,125 quarters beef, 5,727,789 carcasses of mutton, and 7,196.948 carcasses lamb. The meat ill store on June 30 consisted of 2,003,871 carcasses in the .North Island, and 1,343,7.13 carcasses in the South Island, a total of 7.196.948 carcasses.
