GERMAN PRINCE TURNS TO LOOTING
DESPICABLE CONDUCT EXPOSED. New York, July 18. Tho New York "Herald's" Paris correspondent has evidence that Princo Eitel i'riedrich looted the furniture and then blew up a chateau. Prince Eitol lived in tho chateau of Corato Balny on tho Oise, and spent most of his time in a fibell-proof dugout connected with the chateau by a subterranean passage. He transported numerous wagon-loads of furniture to Germany, and when leaving destroyed the chateau. Tho owner lodged with tho French authorities a formal charge of theft against Eitel. The '"Herald" comments on the fact that the spectnclo of a Prince of royal blood committing tlieft does not evoke protest or criticism in the German Press, and says that this indicates the depths to which tho Germans have fallen.—Aus.N.Z.
