A Y.M.C;A. APPEAL
HOME BASE NEEDS HELP. In Wellington tho various appeals by the National Committeo of the Y.M.C.A. have somewhat overshadowed the claims of the local branch. The association is feeling acutely the loss sustained by the withdrawal tor military service of so many young men, but is nevertheless proud of the fact that over .100 members are with tho New Zealand Forces. The loss of this active and financial support is severely felt, and felt all the more because the responsibilities now are much greater than ever they were. Briefly, "the home base" needs help, and that help must be given at once, if the "base" is to continue with its good work. For this reason the Wellington Y.M.C.A. has launched n membership campaign. Those who feel that they cannot devote personal attention to the work are reminded of the fact that financial aid is just as necessary, but all are urged to act at once. A free Y.M.C.A. membership is offered to returned soldiers for a period of twelve months.
