VICTORIA COLLEGE

MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. The monthly meeting of the Victoria College Council was hold last evening, Mr. <J. Watson presiding. There were also present:—Professors Garrow and Hunter, Hon. J. G. W. Aitken, Hon. A. T. Maginnity, Messrs. K. A. Wright, M.P., K. M'Callum, M.P., C. B. Morison, F. H. Bakewell, P. Levi, and Rev. W. A. Evanß. The chairman extended a wolcome to the new members of the council (Professor Hunlei- and Messrs. Bakewell and Levi). He also referred to tho fact that Dr. Prendorgast Knight, ivho had heen a member since tho inception of the council, was not now » member, and he moved a vote of thanks to Dr. Knight for his past services. This was carried unanimously. Messrs. P. Lovi and Professor Hunter were appointed members of the Finance and Business Commilteo in place of Messrs. Floming and Ferguson. It was decided that Acting-Professor Clark bo given >i seat on the Professorial Board while ho is in charge of the Physics Department. The council decided to be represented on tho deputation from the Wellington Education Association to the Government, the chairman and such members of the council an can mako it convenient to attend to represent the council. Accounts for the month amounting to .£ll3l lis. id. wero passed for payment.
