MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEET. Tho weekly meeting of the Management Oonimittco of the. Wellington Football Association was held laßt evening. Mr. W. Aulrl presided, and there woro also present Messrs. B. Hill, 0. Wobstcr, A. Williams, H. Yeoman. Mr. W. li. Wilson wrote asking the committco if they would arrange a match-be-tween the 30th Beinforccmonts and the combined third grade. The matter was left in the hands of the secretary. Regarding: tho Bfth-grado match, Wadestown v. St. I'ctors, at Duppa Htreet last Saturday, Mr. F. Thomas addressed a, letter to tho committee. Ho had taken the match, as tho appointed refcrco had not put in* an appoamncc He was sorry to report that ho had found tho Wadestown team 'anything but .sportsmanlike. Right from the first fiftoen minutes of tho game he had been assailed with insulting remarks from practically ovcry mombcr of tho Wadestown team. Ho had first been dubious about referccing the game, but bo had consented rather than' seo tho . toams go without a game. Ho (Mr. Thomas) had been aooused of favouritism and ignorance of the rules, etc. As a non-per-manent referee but one ready to help when a referee did not appear, he thought that a strangor offoring to referee tho game would got a very poor impression of the Wellington players and tho Association generally. He said ho voiced tho opinion of several when .ho. said such a thing was going to undermine, not strengthen, the Association gamo in Wellington. Several complaints had already been made regarding the Wadestown players, and it was decided to take a firm stand with snob, practices. The secretary is to bo written to and tho captain of tho team in question is to bo called before the committee at its next meeting and asked for an explanation. Prom tho Martinborough School, Mr. A. Baxter wrote regarding a representative school game. There will probably be ono played in Christchurch this season, and arrangements will be completed inter. Mr. F.'/Thomas wrote regarding the schools' games, and recommended Orr, the centre-forward for Island Bay, as a very suitable representative school player.
