The scenes of tho four distinct stories follow one another in rapid succession. There is no attempt at tistorical sequence, but the events are shown aB they might flash across the mind in an effort to parallel the life of the different ages. "Intolerance" shows that, through all the ages, 'the same-passions, the same .ioys, and tho same sorrows have obtained, and Mr. Griffith symbolises them by the cradle, endlessly rocking. Through it all, the events shown are caused by the intolerance of matt,, HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. Rose and Dell are the last of the American Fuller bookings prior to the entry of the United States into the war, and the consequent embargo placed on American citizens from leaving the country. This is uu act of a.novel order, and was secured for Australasia direct from the famous Orpheum Circuit. Combining whirlwind acrobatics with startling cycle-riding, these artists tempor their offering with vocalism, the whole forming an act, it is stated, of an astounding description. Other newcomers will include Billy aud Doris, a pair of English experts in terpsir.hore, the Musical Ibsous, two maids and a "boy, it is stated, of exceptional musical ability; Tilton and West, comedians; Taylor and M'Quoin, singers and duettists; Haig aud Haig, equilibrißts. all entirely new to Wellington. An appreciative audience witnessed the screening of "The Foundling" at the King's Theatre last night. Mary Pickford, in the title role, gives a faithful impersonation of an orphan waif. Mr. Edward Branscombo's latest company, "The Now Daudies," whq are announced to appear at, the Town Hall Concert Chamber on Saturday evening, are thus spoken of by the Auckland "Star":— "The glad welcome accorded to the New Orange Dandies indicated conclusively that the colourful company of musical -comedy frcc-lancos who practise modern minstrelsy under the banner of the Dandies have laid a sure spell on the hearts of the .Auckland populace. And the Dandies justified themselves, so that the programme numbers eventually took second place in number to the encores. The newcomers have given a slightly new and taking twist to the stage setting and the costumes ordinarily identified with the Dandies, and. as in the case of the performance, it merely adds a touch of distinction to their personality while emphasising the fact that they arc a branch of the favourite family of entertainers." The box plan is now open at the Bristol.
