WAR LEAGUE
THE LATE CAPTAIN ATKINSON. His Worship the Mayor presided at the Inst meeting of the executive of the Unr League. The executive passed the following resolutions:— "(1) That; the executive of the War League expresses its deep regret at the death\iu action of its late secertary. Captain Atkinson, and its sense of the" heavy loss that the community has sustained in the death of this patriotic officer, \vho*e energy and enthusiasm had proved such a strong motive power in national movements." "(2) That a copy of this resolution, together with an expression of the committee's deep sympathy with them in I heir bereavement he sent to Captain Atkinson's widow and mother." "(H) That the Executive Committee cf the War League commends to its members (ho 'Round Table' anneal in connection with the Canliii" Atkinson Memorial Fund, and promises the 'floi'"?: t.,!.i,.' ;(... m ,pp o ,.t ; n thp 7-aising of the fund.
