Chinese newspapers report that the Deutsche Bank financed Chang H6un. Tho latter released the Germans interned in the western hills, some of whom fought on Chang Hsun's side, more particularly assisting tho artillery. Other newspaper advices from Peking state that the bulk of the diplomatists protested against Chang Hsun's transfer to tho Gorman barracks, on tho ground that he had forfeited the right to be treated as a political offender.—Aus.-N.Z.
