Mr. Lloyd Goorgo, replying to a deputation of London members of the Houso of Commons, admitted tho special need for defonding London from air raids, but said that tho safety of tho soldiers at tho front "was the first consideration. If anyone said to tho contrary, let them find another Government. ■He denied that air squadrons had been sent to Franco against tho advice of the military. They were sent on the pressing request of Sir Douglas Hnig, whom all military advisers supported.
