Fund. Up to tho present four replies liave been received, 'namolf, from. Admiral Sir John Jellicoo, David Bcatty, Field Marshal Lord' French; and Lieu-tenant-General .Sir W. E. Birdwi»od. In each caso the request made was acceded to'. , General Bfrawood, in the eourso of his reply, reinarked: • "I need hardly say with what ' pleasure I return tho sparo copy of myself, with my autograph on it, and I ■ should be grateful if you would kindly devoto any funds whioh may ee obtained from the proceeds of the sale of the same to 'the aid of the New Zealand Expeditionary, FOroe Gift Tobacco Fund,, to which. I Heartily wish all' possible success. I know, well how much the results of suclv • funds aro appreciated by our men, for whom none can do enough in return for all their magnificent and self-sacrificing work in all tho hard lighting they, have been through."
