FAIR WEATHER
♦ Yesterday's weather ' throughout tho country ranged from fair to cloudy. In Wellington the day opened fine and mild, but the sky clouded towards the evening. Present indications are for freshening northerly and westerly winds, and a falling barometer everywhere soon. There may bo a brief period of fair weather in the East' Coast districts, but unsettled and squally conditions aro likely to follow generally, with rain soon in the western and southernmost districts.
