Senior Frco Places. (b) A senior freo placo is tenable by any pupil who has passed .the Matriculation F/xamination,. or the Public Service Entrance Examination, or tho Intermedia to Examination; or has Qualified for a pass in tho examination for a 6enior national scholarship or any other scholarship (bit the Minister shall approve for this purpose. (0) On tho recommendation ot Iho principal ot Ihe secondary school, based on the school records and examination ifaults for the year, or of an Inspector of Secondary Schools, or, in the i:aeo cf a district high school, on tho recommendation of the senior inspector olithb district, or in part on such a recommendation and iu part on the results of a special examination, a, senior frea place may he awarded by the Director of Education lo any pupil who has satisfactorily completed during tho two years immediately nreccdinn not less than 36 units of work'us defined in tho schedule to Clause 6 hereof, such 36 units to includo at least 8 units in English (Group 1), 6 units in Group 11, 4 units of a continuous course in Group IY, and, ir a. subject is chosen from Group lir, not less than 6 units therein. In reckoning units for this purpose, credit cannot be given for any subject in which less than 2 units have been completed during tho two years.
