:', Sir,—l notice in yesterday's Dominion .that Mr.. Massey had been, waited on by a deputation of. Ms Franklin constituents ■on the six-b'cloek-closing question, and I must sa.y thai I am disappointed,.along with, many others, -with his reply.- That reply may liavo been diplomatic, but I .do not think it will be considered either a courageous or an honest ono. As I am Hot an elector of the Franklin' coneti.tuency, I may havo no right to know the attitade of the member for, that electorate on this question, but us T am a New ZeaJand elector and. Mr. llassey ig Prime /Minister of Now Zealand and ho has a .Great deal of influence in framing the Jaws I am expected to obey, am I asking: I too much when I wish to know the 'Prime Minister's attitude on thie burnling question, or if he will give a distinct •declaration on the liquor trade, or any other important question affecting myself ■and fellow-colonists?
