London, July 12. In the House of Lords thero has been a large attendance of Peers for two clays during the Mesopotamia, Lord Cre\yo paid n tribute tS' tho Commission's labours. He complainod that public criticism in some instances was going beyond tho report. The inception of the expedition was due to Turkey's entry into the war. The campaign grew out of India's unique position in the ii'mnire, and was almost uniformly successful to Juno 15. It was generally realised that the capture of Kut-el-Ainara. would be strategically important. He denied that India's assistance in the world war was lukewarm from 'tho beginning. In the House of Commons, Mr. J. I. Macpherson, Parliamentary Secretary to tho War Office, announced an important Arab success. The forces of King Hedjnz captured the Turkish posts between Tafilamac and Akaba. Sev,en hundred Turks were killed and six hundred captured. He also announced that a Turkish baltnlion was destroyed on July 2 and tho Hedjaz railway was damaged at many points.—TCeuter.
