Tho'racing will commence a.t 11.30 a.m. with the Vittoria tack Hurdles. Tho top weight Flying Camp showed good form on tho flat at Kllersllo, and is a capable jumper Ho and Compulsion galioncd woll yesterday morning. Heart is no good in heavy going. .The Auckland pair, Thracb and Brown Loch, aro both good sorts, and tho latter may bo tho final favourite.
Kauri King, the top weight in the Stewards' Handicap, is engaged in the Parliamentary Handicap also. He is generally ready for a, second start, and may be saddled up twice. The Soult gelding is a good mud performer, and must bo labelled dangerous. Lady Louisa, runner rap' in tho Open Flying Handicap at Otaki, may bo backward, but Potentiality showed good form in mud at Wanganui, where Ohalrwana ran second to him. Miss do Vol has been up no timo, and Waiinotao doeß not get through tho mud at all well. Gold Painting has been off the sceno a long time, and so ha-s George. The light-weights Tip Up, Ttookfield. and Probation have all worked, well, and aro sum to bo in the market. Tip Tip in particular shaped well in a try-out yesterday.
The heavy going may anchor tho top weight Ozaromiß in tho Hack Steeples, but Merry Jack shaped well in tho going at Niiricr and Hastings. Precious Metal, Union Jack, and Dood have all shown up well recently, but tho latter lias fallen t vice when looking like a wina'ir. The Karamu stable has such ti great record In tho Trial Plate that its representative Marker, e, good-looking two-year-old. by King Mark, is certain to havo many friends. Another two-year-old in tho looally-owned Matilda, has boon working well, and Whakatina, has a lot of pace over a €hort course.. Brncburn likes the going soft, but he. 100, may And his weight troublesome at. tho finish. Crib is a big fancy in the south, but it is his first race over big fences. Merrio Lad has several good performances to his 1 credit,' and ib just now at his best. Ho may be tho absoluto favourite to-day. Oollcotor, who is next to htm in tho handicap, has also ma.ny'followers.
' Of tho lot engaged in the Parliamentary Handicap nothing has worked better Mian Heeltap, who badly defeated Johnny Walker yesterday. ficdd-el-Bahr always races well at Trcntham. Detroit, will bo ridden by Deoloy, and ha* his good form at Awapuni to recommend hitn. Tho Winter Hurdles Ib the hardest problem backers havo to laco during tho day. Sir Fisher, if anything, loolts a better horse than when ho won bo decisively at Hastings, and he is not by any means badly treated. Tararu Jack is looking and going well, but such a free galloper may tire in tho mud. Marconi is a, moody little fellow, but ho possOEseß tho ability if Id the humour. .Iceberg won well on tho second day at Hastines. and ha.s dono well since. Moulti is on improved' horEe 6ince Wanganui. where bo made a good showing. Penniless won tho Maiden Hurdles at Ellcrslieby a good margin, and has now only got the minimum. . There arc 32 acceptors in the To Aro Handionp. and tho majority will, see the post. The race appears to bo very open, and once .more wo may see a big dividend in the concluding event.. Morrio Poto was a dual winner a.(. Ot.a.ki. and ho shaped pleasingly yesterday on the tracks. Humorist and Madam Eistori aro both good beginners, and likely light-weights are Sunshade, '.Rajput and Papaross. Investors should 1 exercise care in this race, as all the horses numbered, from 17 to 32 will be braoketcd in pairs.
