RUGBY UNION

The weekly meeting of the Wellington Hupl'y Union was held last evening. Jfr. D. D. Weir presided. Messrs. Morison nnd Smith, -wrote stating that they had a debt against tho l>ion for £5 ss. in connection with leiral ■work regarding the Athletic Park. They wished to contribute that amount to tho fund being raised to assist the Union to retain the Park. The donation was receivctl with thanks.

T'.ie Wairarapa Rugby XTnion wrote to the\ Union agreeing to the proposal to plav liomo-aiid-honie games this yi'.ar. each union to take gate proceeds and pa.' their own expenses. They suggested that the first game between Wellington and Wairarapa should take p'aec at libstert'in on July 23. As the Union wanted the match at Fcatherston the matter was left over until Wairarapa are further communicated with.
