"It is 'up to' you to find the ships and the organisation/' Newfoundland looked to Britain, aided by tho State, to bring about this muchneeded reform. ■ M'lipy did not want assistance from the Exchequer—all they required was co-operation. With that cooperation he was satisfied thnt between now and Christinas Newfoundland would do its part in sunulying tl-e neople of Britain with n cheap, palatable, and nutritious food. Mr. Thomson in his lecture said a home might be found in Newfoundland after, tho war for many of our men. There wmild hf. nlenty of work for all. free land for a homestead, good money to be made, and a comfortable living for those who were not afraid to work.
