PATRIOTIC CONCERT
Tli,c Iteikioransi Concert Company fa band of local r-rtiste organised and managed by Jfr. F. C. Alpyor) gave an entertainment in nid of the Crippled Soldiers' ]lo3tel Fund, Wellington. The nijfht was very wot, but tie Reiltioraniji people, with their ueua-1 generosity iownrds patriotic effoi-ts, turned out well. The first part of the programme was Riven by a circle with two coloured, corner men, Tambo (Jlr. Riniinor) and Bones (Jlr. Meyer). The first item was a song by the corner men and chorus by the company, "Back Home in Tennessee." Miss Roso Kent saji? 'Tatty Proudly Paclcs for Privates' Prepaid Paper Parcels"; Tambo (Mr. E. Rimmer), "When tlie Coloured Congregation is on Parade"; Miss Winnie Kent, "Why did You Malto Me Love Toil?": Bones (Mr. F. Meyer), "Ain't Ter Gwine to be Ma Husky Bride?"; Mifis Kenr, "There's a Ship that's Bound for Blighty"; Mr. .T. Rtubbings, "When You're a- Lwur. long Way from Home"; Mr. W. Williams, "Keep Smilin?, Mother"; Mr. Geo. Colpman, "When tho War Drums nro Beatini on tlio Prairie"; and Mr. Don Stirimr "The Owl in the OH Oak Tree."
