V. Colello's pair, Czaroiuis and Braohurn, were given a round over the big fences. The former was a bit careful at. the first two, but Braeburn gave- his usual dashing display.

Gtuetan.ua and Thrace jumped tho hurdles together.

Tho Brewer, Golden Butterfly, and Coalition were given a round over the big fences, and all got through well. Messrs. Kiddiford's gelding, in particular, is improving with each school.

• Iceberg and Bcwi Poto went over three hurdles. The grey jumped well, but, .llcv.i I'oto got a bit olose to the second fence. Flying (Jamp, Compulsion, and San-Se-bastian weut together over tho small .fences, and the two first-named pleased greatly, but tho Timaru horse was inclined to dwell at hia fences.

Oolleotor, Dood and El Gallo each shaped satisfactorily in a- try-out over the big fences. Tho former shaped very well, and with suoh a light impost be. must be, reckoned with in Wednesday's contest.

Kukri was tried over the hurdles by himself, but refused to' jump. Later ou he joined in with Penniless, Brown Loch and Marconi, and gave a splendid exhibition. ' Tho three Aucklandcrs all jumped well. ■

On the crass Marc Antony and Scdd-el-Bahc went a mile and wero picked up by llinesweepor at the ebt-furlonge post. Bedd-el-Bahr was pulled up in the Btraight and the other pair finished togethor. in linin.' 64seo.

The jumpers Kirkby, Biapatoh Carrier, Kow, and Merry Lad took lmin. 55seo. to .run a mile. Kirkby, who bad a big weight, was beaton oß,' but tho other tnree finished togethor. Merry Lad, on tho inside, appeared to be going better than tho others.-

Kauri King and Toii, both of whom act well in mud, also wont a mile comfortably in lmin. 55sec.

The' Wanganiii pair, Leonta and Moulu, went eight furlonga together. The first half mile was run in good .time, hut tho pair tired in the run home, and the full distance took lmin. 5615e0.

Marker, who is to contest the Trial Plate, showed a lot ot pace over half a mile, which he galloped, alone.

.Centre was given strong, work and brushed home.

Hyllue was given a slow round and galloped half a mile in 55seo. ,

Goldstream had Itajput for a companion ovor a. Eteady round, with tho pace on down tho straight.

'Precious Metal was given a strong round by himself.

Tararu/Jaok was given a couple of strong riuuds. Tho last half mila was done at his best pace.
