BAUMAI STABBING CASE
JACKSON COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston North, July !). • At the Magistrate's Court, letore Mr. W. G. iKcnrick, S.M., George Jackson was charged that at Kauiuai on June 29 he did kill Thomas Claud Urammer Jackson by stabbing him with'a knife. Evidence was to the effect I hat the Jackson family and three friends were at dinner, when, a knock was heard at the door. Jackson and Kirs. Jtckson went out. ■ When George JaclcMii ieturned to the dining-room he kicked his chair into a corner, and Thomas Jackson told him to behave himself, Jacksjn replying that he would do., as he liked in his own house! George Jackson picked Tip a knito and said: "I will run this into you." Thomas jumped up and told him to put the knife down. George. Jackson came partly round the corner of the table land struck at Thomas with tho knife, which was in his right hand. Jackson then threw down the Knife, and said: "There, I told you." Thomas came round the corner of the table and struck his father, tho latter falling to the floor. Thomas was making a further attempt to hit his father, when lie was pulled aside. The boy then went outside. He was carried in "and put to led. Thomas was taken to a Palmerston private hospital, where he died next morning; Jackson reserved his defence, and was committed for trial.
