Arthur Sheriff, who was found helplessly drunk in Lambton Quay, was remanded for n, week for medical treatment.
James Langney was found by a constable lying on tho footpath on Wellington Tcrvacn. Ho told the constable that he. had been without food for three or four days. Ho was taken to the polico Elation, where it was 'seen that Lengncy was' ill. Ho was not in any way under the influence of liquor, but was more in a, state of nollapa). He was charged with being an idlo nnd disorderly person in that ho had insufficient lawful means of support. Tho Magistrato decided to remand tho case for a week.
Loitering in a public place for immoral purposes; and being a rogue and a vagabond in that, sho possessed insufficient lawful means of support,'were tho two charges preferred against Louisa Tierncy. She was convicted and sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment for being a roguo and n, vagabond, and on tho charge ■of loitering she was ponvicted aud discharged.
