YESTERDAY'S BUSINESS. Tlie 'Wellington' Diocesan. Synod resumed its sessious in the Masonic Hall, .Boulcott Street, yesterday. His Lordship Bishop Sprott presided. Air. Wilberfoss, on behalf of the Kev. H. AVatspn, who was absent on account of illness, moved: "That the Synod consent to the alteration of the western boundaries of St. Peter's Parish, in order to allow the formation of a new parochial district of Kelburn; provided that the Standing Committee is satisfied tnat an adequate stipond will be forthcoming; the new boundary line be-
tween the parish of St. Peter and the proposed new districts to bo as follows: —Beginning where the boundary of tho parish crosses Salamanca. Road, thence in n southerly direction by Salamanca Road and Kelburn Parade to the northern corner of section 19 of Kelburj subdivision, thence by the western boundary of tho Town Belt to the northern boundary of Devon Street, thenco by the southern boundary of the original l sections 28 and 29 of the Karori Registration District tothoKniwarra Stream."— i,no motion was carried.
The following motion by tho Veil.' Archdeacon Reevo was carried: "That, in tllo opinion of tho Synod, tho vestry of a parish or parochial district should assist the clergy in a-practical way by making n substantial annua'l grant towards travelling expenses; and that tho lay representatives take, tho firefc opportunity of placing tho matter before their respective vestries.
The president moved, and tho Synod carried, tho following motion:—"That a Select Committco be set up to inquire in England and elsewhere as to tho constitution and powers of Cathedral Chapters and to formulate tho draft of a proposed constitution of a chapter for this diocese, and to report'to tho next sit-
ting of this Synod; that tho committco consist of. tho Ven. Archdeacon Fanrourt, tho Rev. A. JI. Johnson, Rev. A. L. Simsell, Rev. F. H. Peine, Mr. T!. HadSsld, Mr. W. Jj'. War'd, and tho inovei'i"
Tho Synod went into committee at eight dfclock to give further consideration to tho resolution connected with the report of the Cathedral Committee. About 10 o'clock tho session was adjourned to to-day. *
