COMMENT ON EX-VICEEOY'S DEFENCE. London, July i. Newspapers criticise. Viscount Ear-' diuge's apology (in his speech on the Mesopotamian report) mostly in a tone 'of moderation amb restraint. ' India's internal and external difficulties in 1914-15, also her great contributions to the Empire's fighting strength, are given duo weight, but the comments uphold the fairness of the Commissioners' report.— Aus.-N.Z.
