MOUNT COOK SCHOOL

■ The monthly meeting of the Mount Cook Sohool Committee was held on Monday evening. In response to an appeal for help, the children, havo subscribed to the London. Children's Belief Fund a sum of £16 10a., made up as follows:— Infants, .£3 10s. Cd.; girls, M 12s. Gd.; and boys, JC6 7s. Arrangements liavo been, made under 'the auspices of the Navy League for speakers to be sent to the schools to address tho scholars on "The British Navy." A sum of about has been subscribed by Mount Cook "old boys" towards the cost of erecting an "Honours Board" upon which to inscribe the names of Mount Cook "old boys" who have gone ito the front. The number of scholars on the roll last month was 1081, with an average attendance of 90 per cent.
