Under the reduction scheme recently entered into by the Itaoing Conference, tho Wairarapa Earing Oluh has selected Docomber 13 for a one-day meting, and' March 14 and 15 for a two-day meeting next seaeon. For many years past tho club has raced on holiday dates, viz., January 1 and 2 and Easter Saturday and Monday, so the proposed alteration makes in important change of opinion as to tho advisability of holding meetings on tho same dates as several other clubs, which has tho effect of reducing the number of competing horses. A Press Association telegram from Dunodin states that at a meeting of the last Special District Committee to consider the request of the Minister of Internal Affairs that the one-third reduction iu racing should bo applied to the chief centres, it was unanimously resolved: "That this committee is of opinion that as it ■ strictly carried out the direcions of Cabinet at its last m'ecting it cannot see its way to depart from that decision, aiid therefore resolves to request the Government to abide by. tho agreement entered into between tho Government and the Jincing Conference, which has boon faithfully carried out by the Special .District fJCmmittee."
