(Rec. July 4, 1.30 a.m.) Athens, July 2. The Greek troops to-day took the oath of allegiance, to the new King. There was an imposing ceremony in tho presence of M. Yenizelos, and subsequently a Requiem Mass was sung at the Cathedral for the soldiers who had been killed on the Macedonian front. M. Venizelos on returning to his hotel was enthusiastically acclaimed. In a speech, from the balcony he announced that the Army had been sworn to the achieving of the long-desired union of the two parties in Greece. ' , , ~ . General Papoulas asked to be relieved of his command, and issued a farewell order exhorting the troops to .remain fraternally united to serve their lung and country.
