TAKING an3ASUR.ES FOR PRESERVING ORDER. (Rec. July 1, 5.5 p.m.) London, June 30. Five hundred infantry, with machineguns, havo been sent to EastXHare as a precautionary measure during the elections. A manifesto has been- issued toy Cardinal Loguo and the Catholic Hierarchy urging the clergy to exhort the people to beware of dangerous associations, and shun movements hot according with Catholic teaching and doctrino; condemning all organisations plotting against tho Church or constituted authority; and reminding priests that they are forbidden to talk of politics or kindred subjoots in the chorches.-United borvico.
