GOVERNMENT SECURITIES. Tho following are the latest quotations for Consols and Colonial Government Securities in comparison with Uioeo ruling last week:—
MONET UAHKET. The Bank or England discount rate was on January Z, 1914, reduced from 5 to <j per cent., on January 22 it was reduced to 4 per cent., and on January 28 J per cent. On July 30 i.bo rate wa3 raised to 4 scr cent-., mid on July 31 It was raised to 6 per cent,, and on Aujust 1 it was farther advanced to 10 nor cent. On August 6 the rato was reduced to 6 per cent., on August 7it was further reduced, to 5 per cent., on. July IJ. 1916. it was raised u> 6 per cent., on January 12, 1917, it wae reduced to 51 por cent., and on April i> it was further reduced to 5 per cent. OPEN ILAIttCET KATES.
