AN IMPORTANT MEETING

Wylie OVclhngton), ,1. Keith (Victoria), A. Ferguson (Otiiki), Y. Dimock (T)iorndon), P: J.OVI (Kiistbourno), and \\ : . Jtelhuisli (Petone). Tho annual report (a. precis of Tchic-h nas been published) was taken as read and adopted. Tho election of officers resulted us follows :-Presidont, Sir. S. H. Underwood; vice-president, Mr. W. C. Cooper; lion, treasurer, Mr. ,T. F. I,'obcrts; bon. auditor, Mr. ,f. \y. Kiunibiirg; executive, delegates nominated by each, of the tliite. The chairman, in referring to the, constitution of the cectre. thought that the present executive (of seventeen) was 100 unwieldy. Their duties lvoro very limited, and for what they had to'do tho business would be much tetter done by a small executive. . Ifr. V. .Dimock moved that tho executive should (jousist -of seventeen members, one from each club (as «t present). Mr. Keith seconded tho motion, which was carried after discission. The contribution of clubs was mado (no same as last year. Tho secretary (Sir. J. J. Roberfa) ivas voted tho same honorarium as lastycav, viz., twenty-five guineas. Tho president presented. Sir. W. Cooper with the cerlifieato for winning tho champion singles of the centre. The president alfio referred to winning of the A Pennant by Jfewtown and t'he B Pennant by tho Wellington Club. The Hill Pins were also handed to Jfr. G. Rondry, as representing tho Fniaitsu Club. It was decided to support the -Dumediu and Auckland Centres' nominees for the positions of president, of vice-president I respectively of the Dominion Bowling , Association for the ensuing year. Tho ■following were nominated for the 'Dominion Association's Council:—Messrs. T. Bush, E. J. Hill, F. Jlcadowcroft, and Colonel B. .T. Collins. An application ■n'as mado on lirlinH of tho Petono Municipul Bowling Club for membership of the centre. Tt ivas explained by the chairman thnt it -wae necessary for a club to supply a copy of their mice and nuinber of 'its membership to the Dominion Bowling Association. Tho discussion on the pennants' scheme for next season was adjourned until a future meeting. Tho only scheme handed in so far was one from the Newtown Club.

Tho <lntes nf the centre's champion games wore fixed as follow:—Champion singles, February 27; champion pairs, March G; champion rinks, MaTeli 13. On the morion of Mr. Keith a hearty vote of thanks irns passed to the retiring president for his iniform courtesy r\nd the harmony he cons : sfently promoted.

At tho conclusion of tho meeting of tho centre .1 meeting of tho executive was held. It tras decided that the quorum nt meetings l>e seven, and that Mr. .T. .T. Roberts lie secretary for the ensuing year. It iras nlso arranged that tho executive meet on the second Tuesday in the month, providing thene is any business to bo transacted.

Tho next centre tournament was fixed to commence on. Boxing .Day and conclude on New Tear's Day, providing four days' full rink play.
