MAORC SUPPOSED TO BE DROWNED By TclcKrapli—Press Association. Hastings, Juno 27. A Maori named Noemo- Epiha, married, aged 85, is supposed to havo boon drowned in Poutawa Lake. He went duck shooting last Sunday, and a Bearch party yesterday found his boat capsized. Tho police are Dow dragging the lake. DEATH FROM'INJURIES IN A TIMBER MILL. Auckland, Juno '21. _ Jatnca Thomas, 23 years of age, died in hospital to-night as a result of injuries received through being caught in tho shafting and belt at Parker and Lamb's timber vnille on June 19, necessitating amputation of a leg and an arm.
