GROWTH OF TECHNICAL SCHOOLS
MOKE ACCOATMODATfON WANTED. At yesterday's conference of directors ami supervisors of technical schools (ho. chairman, Mr. George, had something to say about the necessity for increased accommodation for technical classes throughout the Dominion. Bβ said that it wo~uld be necessnry for Parliament togrant a big appropriation for the buildings and equipment required- to carry on more satisfactorily the. present work, and also the work that would* come if tho recommendations of the conference were brought into force. A. resolution was needed to draw attention to the fact that everywhere more accommodation was required. -Mr. l'osscy. I think it is not so much a question of present necessities on the present scale of the teebnical school work in tho Dominion but of provision of adequate menus of instruction in nil phases on the senie which is adopted iit other countries.
The following resolution was passed: "That the National Efficiency Board should urge upon the Government the necessity for allocating sufficient funds to provide for the erection, equipment, and upkeep of technical schools throughout the Dominion on modern lines, lo meet; Hie increased demand that must arise for technical education, and must be supplied if our industries lire to be di'veloned so n- lo satisfy our national needs."
