RETURN OF MINISTERS. The Prime Minister (the Eight HoiU W. F. Massey) and Sir Josoph Wartf, caino to Wellington from Auckland by. special train, arriving here yesterday af-' ternoou. They were accompanied by Sir, James Allen and the Hon A. M. Myers, who had gone to Auckland to meet them. ' On the journey down the returned istors were met at -several railway sta-. tions by the 1 Mayors of towns and leading! citizens, and given words of welcome, oheers, and hand-shakes. The northern, part of the journey was covered in the>. night time, and for this reason there j could be no 6uch meetings on the north-, cm stations. The first station at which] anything of the sort had been conteni-! plated was Ohakune, but the train pass-, ed through there at 7.45 a.m. in a storrmj of rain, and as the town is about a; mile and a half from the station the; citizens very sensibly stayed at h0m0..; At Taihape the Mayor and leadinir citi-; ''/.ens were on the platform; at Marlon-.] and at Palmerston there were little wel-< come ceremonies. • At Wellington the Mayor (Mr. .T. JV Luke, C.M.G.) met the returning Mmis-' tere and welcomed them on behalf of the' citizens. All the Ministers were present, and also a representative gathering' of tho citizens of Wellington CIVIC RECEPTION TO-DAT. 'A civic reception is to be tendered the Prime Minister and Sir Joseph Ward at the Town Hall at noon to-day. At tho conclusion of the reception the Mayor and members of the City Council will entertain tho Ministers at luncheon, in. the Grand Hotel. . '
