A meeting of the Bcrhanipore branch of the Women's National lieservo was held in the Masonic Hall at Berhamporo Inst -evening. There was quite n good, attendance and Mrs. Watt (president) occupied the chair. The- conveners of the different' sub-committees submitted their reports—the Y.M.C.A. Committee (Mrs. Duncan), the Entertainment Committee (Mrs. Jl'Cnrtie). and Red Cross (Mrs. Watt.). Interesting addresses were given bv 'Mrs. Low. president of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the T.Af.C.A.. <m the work of the association: Mrs. Mills upon what women were doing in connection with the war, and Miss Jolly upon life in Rumania. The latter bad lived in Rumania for about oight Tears, and was there when the peasant rising toolc place, roanv exciting experiences happening to her in that troublous tune. Miss ■ Karris sang two songs, a.wl, tho meeting closed' with the singing of the National Antlietn.

The sirls at the Catholic. Hostel were responsible for a very successful dance whicb was hold in tho Alexandra Hall last evening.
