THE LATEST RETURNS. According to the returns published ves. terday in connection with the Cify Electric Lighting Department, the working expenses continue to gain on the monthly increase in revenue, as is the ease in tho Tramways Department. This is presumably one of the results of tho recent coal scare. , Tho return under review show 9 that whilst the general revenue increased by ■£445 in May the working expenses went lip to the extent of. —.£lB9 more than the iucrease in revenue.
