BIG OCEAN BOMB PLOT LAID BARE
LIGHT ON MYSTERIOUS SHIPPING LOSSES (Rec. '.Tune 20, 7.40 p.in ) Christiania, .Tune 24. The authorities havo discovered large depots of explosives and infernal machines, which are belioved to havo come from Germany. Some of tho explosives, are disguised as coal briquettes, and it has been suggested that theso were intended to be placed on board ships. This would explain the mysterious losses o£ Norwegian vessels. Owing to the excitement and rumours caused by the discovery, tho Government issued a communique stating that great quantities of explosives had been seized and several foreigners arrested. Full details are promised when investigations havo been completed. The "Tidens Tegn" states that three Finns and the German Baron Ton Hautenfels have been arrested, and a large quantity of most dangerous explosives seized. The Press is convinced that these havo been responsible for the loss of many ships, and demands most severe punishment.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
