INDUSTRIAL CONSCRIPTION AND FUTURE POLICY. London, Juno 21. A conference at Westminster oF 270 delegates, representing 1,286,000 miners,, raitwaymen, and transport workers, passed a resolution- to surnon a special conference to discuss the question of industrial conscription, if the Government introduced a niensuro to that end; also affirming that the conscription of wealth should precede tho conscription of men. Mr. Robert Smillie, president of the Minors' Federation of Great Britain, who' presided, said that tho triplo alliance of workers had hitherto acted defensively, and must await a more favourable moment for a. more aggressive policy.
