Shortly after 6 o'clock one. of tho committee of the Albert Club, which . has its headquarters in Hoyt's Buildings, Bourke Street, the main part of which is occupied by Hoyfs picture theatre, telephoned to eay'that they had a stray baby ou t'hoir hands. Tho little one, which was about IS inonths old, had? been lying in a perambulator in front of tho theatre for two hours, and, as it was blue with the cold, the charitable clubman placed it in thecharge of the'"nVan'ageress of the club .dining-room, who, with her two assistants, regaled the stranger with hot milk. Ten minutes elapsed, and the frantic father of tho child rang .up Russell Street, to receive the assuring news that the lost ono was found. Ho explained that ho and his wife, who were visitors from Sydney, ■wore.staying at a city hotel, smd had engaged an elderly woman, employed there to take the baby . for an wring. Apparently the attractions of the kinonia proved too. strong. Prior to this the nurse had gone back to the hotel to report that she had lost her charge, and had been overwhelmed with a storm of .reproaches, and bidden! to'go to seek the child. She, too, made Russell Street, lsor objective, but appeared in person, and was much relieved to learn, that the child
