Mrs. M'liao (Waikanae) has returned from her visit to Sydney. Owing to tho exceptional rainfall on Saturday last Mts. W. J. Stevens was compelled to cancel at tho last minute arrangements .for. her concert which was to havo been given in tlio Town Hall at Miramar in aid of Red Cross funds. It is now proposed that the concert lie held next Saturday at tho samo time and place. Mr. and Mrs. Angus M'lCinnon, of Arapawanui (Ilawke's Bay), have returned from a visit to Christchurch. The wedding took place at St. Lucia's Cathedral, Colombo (Ceylon), on April 12, of Miss Irene Toonmn, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Tooman, of Auckland, and Mr. AV. Austen Goodman, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. AV. A. Goodman, of London. Tho bride was given away by Mr. E. W. Head, of Colombo, and her sister, Miss Freda. Tooman, attended as bridesmaid.
