Bidding was inclined to drag, but sales were made at the following quotations:— Sheep: Fat ewes, 335.; mixed-sex two-tooths, 275.; mixed aged ewes, in lamb, 245.; cull ewes, in lamb, 10s.; small lambs, 12s. 6d.; cull rams, 14s. Cattle: Forward empty COWB, £5 12s. 6d., £6 £s., £6 17s. 6d., to £7; store cows (culls), £2 17s. 6d.; bulls, £7 12s. 6d.; springing heifers, £11 ss. Horse: Five-year-old cob. £10.
Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report: At Pajmcrston North on June 14 we had aVgood entry of sheep, some 1764 being yarded, and a few cattle. The entry consisted chiedy of ewes of ordinary quality and lambs. There was a fair demand, and most lines found buyers at liruies as follow:—Forward aged ewes, 245. Cd. to 265.; empty store ewes, 19b., 19s. 6d., 21s. 2d., 225.; aged ewes in lamb, 17a. 9d., 215., 225., cull owes, 9s. 6d., 10s. 6d.; Southdown-ciross store lambs, 16s. 4d.; mixed lambs (small), Us., 125., 145., 14s. 10d. At Feuding on June 15 we had a good entry of stock, our yarding consisting of some 1085 .sheep.and 3E5 cattle, of mostly excellent quality. There was a fair all round demand, and the bulk of the stock ofleri'd changed hands at auction and after the sale. Prices were on a liar with late quotations. Ilio yarding comprised 470 head, of which 385 were sold under the hammer, and tho hoik of tho balance quitted privately after the sale at satisfactory prices. Prices for all well-bred, good-oonditioned cattle were exceptionally good, but 111-bred, .backward sorts were hard to quit A feature of the sale was tho excellent quality of some of the fat cattlo yarded. Prices realised wero:—Fat bullocks, £25, £24 £23 103., to £16 108.: fat Bteers, thrco to Tour yeare old, £13 7s. 6d. to £15 55.; fat helfere. £20 to £13 10b. A line of 65 four and five-year-old bullooks, in good condition, realised £13 12s. 6d.; others, from £10 12s. 6d. to £11 15s. Store two to three-year-old steers brought £7 17s.
