A PERENNIAL DRAMA. More years than some of the theatregoers cure to count have passed Binco "East Lynno" was first staged. But tho dramatisation of Mrs. Henry Wood's famous novel seeme as popular to-day as It was when an earlier generation shared the sorrows of tho unhappy Lady Isabel, and wept at the passing of Littlo Willie. "East Lynno" was produced at the Grand Opera House last night by the BrandonCremcr Dramatic. Company, which is liringi'y? its Wellington season to a closo, and the old play was watched by a sympathetic audience. Mr. Maurice Tuohy took tho part of Archibald Carlisle, and Mr. Edgar Keniio. was the treacherous Sir Francis Lcvi-son. Miss Kathleen Arnold acouitted herself creditably as Lady Isabel, and subsequently as the disguised Madamo Vine. Barbara Hare was represented by Miss Jlabel Hardingo, who gave a. fairly satisfactory interpretation, and Mis? Alico Redo did good work as the old-maidish Cornelia Carlisle. Mr. FrunkJfcil had the part of Itichard HaTc, and half a dozen other members of the eommnv assisted to complete the cast. A Wellington child. Miss Irene March, nerformed really well as Littlo Willie. Tho play was well 6tagcd, and was obviously enioyed by the audience. The company will play "East Lynnc" twice to-day, first at a matinee in tho afternoon, and then at the evening performance.
