SOLICITING FUNDS WITHOUT A PERMIT

A MAORI FINED. In the Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon, before Mr. W, G. Blddell, 8.M., a Maort named Pukekawa, Paul, of Orakei, Auckland, was charged that, not being the holder of a permit under Section 13, of the War Funds Act, 1915, he did Eollolt contribution to a, war fund. Hon. A Nativo Board ia endeavouring to raise euffiolent funds in order to carry out thia purpose, but are unable to obtain the amount required from the Nativo people. You aro therefore earnestly requested to make e, reasonable contribution in aid of tho purpose abovo named. All donations will bo publicly acknowledged.
