II was decided lh|it the executive should meet tho Pinanco Committee of the War iielicf Association, together with delegates from llio Mayor's Patriotic Committee, in order to discuss w«ys of raising funds for the work of the lielief Association. The meeting was appoint.! i| to |)n held on Tuesday next. Adjutant A. E. llosking, of tho Salvation Army, waited upon tho meeting with an appeal for a contribution toward the cost of establishing tho hostel for soldiers' relatives at Pcatiicrslon. The Salvation Army, he staled, required for general war work .£21,000. It had recently committed itself to the establishment of the hostel, and this was costing .1:10,000. Tlioy bad XJflOfl of the amount in hand. Patriotic Societies in other centres wero prepared to make a enecial effort to raise more funds for the establishment, and Iho army wished (o know whether the Wellington Society was. prepared to assist.
